Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

TagGen is built so that the sensitive part of your work — your drafts, captions, transcripts and tag lists — never reaches us in the first place.

What we do not collect

Every tool on this site runs inside your browser using JavaScript. The text you type or paste into a tool is processed on your own device and is never transmitted to a TagGen server, because there is no tool-processing server to transmit it to.

We do not ask for an account, an email address or a payment method, so we hold no user profiles, no credentials and no billing records.

What is stored on your device

To make the site useful across visits, TagGen writes a small amount of data to your browser's local storage:

  • Favorites — the tools you have starred.
  • Recent tools — the last twelve tools you opened.
  • Collections — tag sets you chose to save, along with their names.
  • Cookie preferences — your choice about analytics and advertising.

Clearing your data

This data belongs to you and stays on the device that created it. Clearing your browser's site data for TagGen removes all of it immediately. You can also clear favorites and history from the Favorites page and delete individual collections from the Collections page.

Server logs

Like any website, TagGen is served by a web host that records standard technical request logs, which may include IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp. These logs exist for security and reliability and are not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

TagGen does not run analytics or advertising scripts unless you allow them through the cookie banner. Advertising space on the site is currently reserved but empty — no ad network is connected. If that changes, the banner and our Cookie Policy will be updated before any third-party script loads.

Children

TagGen is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to export or delete on request. If you believe we hold information relating to you, contact us through the contact page and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

If we change how TagGen handles data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Material changes affecting cookies will also re-trigger the consent banner.
