Using hashtags tools well

Hashtags do two jobs: they place a post inside a topic feed and they signal subject matter to a recommendation system. Both jobs are better served by a small, accurate set than by a maximum-length block. Mix breadth deliberately — a couple of broad tags, several mid-sized topical ones, and a few very specific ones that describe exactly what the post shows.
