A tag utility should work for everyone who writes and publishes. We build TagGen against WCAG 2.1 AA as a baseline rather than an afterthought.
What we do
Across the site you can expect:
- A skip link to jump straight to the main content.
- Full keyboard operation — every control is reachable and usable without a mouse.
- A visible focus ring on every interactive element.
- Labels on every input, and status messages announced politely to screen readers.
- Text contrast that meets AA against its background in both light and dark themes.
- Semantic headings, landmarks and lists so structure is navigable, not just visual.
Motion and colour
Animation is limited to small, short transitions and is never required to understand a result. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — counts, labels and text always accompany it.
Known limitations
Very large tag boards can produce long lists of controls, which is slow to traverse with a screen reader. We group and label these, but we are still improving the experience for lists of several hundred tags.
